Your path: Home / About MEC / Governance / Get Involved / Annual General Meeting
Every year in April, MEC holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM). As a co-operative we are legally obligated to do so, and that's a good thing. It gives our members an opportunity to hear about how MEC is doing and gives members a chance to tell us what they think.
We hold our AGM every spring and announce the results from our annual Board of Directors election. Our leadership team, including our Board, CEO, and senior managers, attends, and presents reports to our membership on how the Co-operative is doing. We also have a Parliamentarian present - an outside consultant who serves as an expert in meeting procedures and observes our proceedings.
The AGM is your opportunity to learn about MEC's achievements in the past year, and to let us know what matters to you.
We give notice to our membership 60 days in advance of the meeting, by posting the time, date, and location details here on our website. Any member can attend, and anyone who has been a member for 16 weeks or longer is eligible to vote, and has one vote on each matter presented at the meeting.
The 2014 AGM will be held in late April, 2014. More information will be posted soon.
If you would like to move a resolution at the meeting, you must deliver written notice to our Governance office no less than 90 days before the AGM. Read more about resolutions.
Draft minutes from the last AGM, held April 25, 2013, will be available soon. In the meantime, you can watch a video of the meeting here .
