MEC Ambassador Kalob Grady Ottawa, ON
Kalob grew up on the banks of the Ottawa River, and has been a strong paddler since childhood. When he was 10 years old, he kayaked whitewater for the first time and his world changed forever.
That first taste of whitewater motivated him to develop a foundation for paddling and technical skill sets. He committed his efforts to freestyle kayaking at the age of 13, and now - less than a decade later - he's competing against the world's best freestyle kayakers in the senior men's division.
Some of Kalob's competitive paddling highlights include winning the Canadian Junior National Championships and representing Canada at the World Freestyle Kayaking Championships, where he finished sixth.
Don't count the days, make the days count."
