At an age when most athletes consider retiring, Marilyn discovered competitive long-distance running. Now in her 40s, she's challenging records on all surfaces - track, road, and cross-country - and has represented Canada on the national and international scene. You'll find her exploring the forested running trails of Victoria, where she lives and trains.
She's passionate about healthy running and techniques that have kept her invigorated and injury free. In her running clinics, she shares what she's learned with recreational and elite runners.
In September 2012, Marilyn set the record in the outdoor 10,000m Canadian masters (34:22), and in 2008 and 2012, she took top prize in the Vancouver Sun Run masters division.
At its best, running is freedom – the beauty and simplicity of natural movement. If I can help other runners experience even a glimpse of that, my work is done."
