Store Services
Our bike shops can provide any repair from minor service, like installing fenders, to a deluxe overhaul. If you're not sure what kind of work your bike needs, bring it in for a free safety inspection. Our mechanics will inspect it, consult with you, and if it needs service, determine the best package value for your bike's condition.
Call the store to set up a shop visit. A tune-up may take two to four business days. Minor repairs can be done while you shop.

Our meeting room can accommodate small groups, and is available to local outdoor clubs, ENGOs, or NGOs that have a similar mandate as MEC. The store floor can fit larger groups, but is available only after store hours.
We have audio visual equipment (not including laptop computers), white boards, and flip charts. Use of our space is free. If interested, please email Susan Adnrew at SAndrew@mec.ca at least a month in advance of your event.
Recycled building materials, re-circulated rainwater,
low energy usage – what does it all look like, and how does it work? If your group is
interested in taking a tour of our green building, please email Susan Andrew at SAndrew@mec.ca for information.
If you belong to a not-for-profit organization that has similar values to MEC, and you need a way to reach out to the local outdoor community, why not try setting up in our Members' Den over a weekend?
Groups can use our floor space free of charge to educate the public about current environmental or outdoor issues, or to collect public input regarding future park or government initiatives. Local clubs can also spend time here, letting people know they exist and what they have to offer. We do ask that you respect the rights of members who only want to go about their business. Space is limited, please email Susan Andrew at SAndrew@mec.ca for information.
We offer free presentations and informational store tours to interested student groups, outdoor organizations, environmental organizations, or business. We can arrange to come to your classroom or meeting if you can't make it down here. Topics range from winter camping gear and avalanche safety to the benefits of ethical business. We can customize presentations or tours to fit your needs. If you're interested please email Susan Andrew at SAndrew@mec.ca
Recycling
We will recycle batteries that were bought at our store. You can drop them off at our Member Service Desk and we'll take care of them, but please don't bring any that are broken or corroded.
