Located just west of the Trans Canada Highway, our North Van store serves MEC's 55,000 North Shore members as well as those who live in North Burnaby, Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton.

Parking: There is an outside parking lot adjacent to the store. Parking is free. We have preferred parking set aside for hybrid vehicles and car co-ops, as well as two electric vehicle charging stations.

Community

Grants, Support, and Product Donations

MEC supports grassroots organizations and their efforts to conserve ecologically and recreationally important places and to inspire and enable Canadians to be active outdoors. Through our Community Contributions program MEC donates gear, funding and in-kind support, helping us all keep space for adventure.

Display Space

Not-for-profit groups that have similar values to MEC can use our floor space free of charge to educate the public about current environmental or outdoor issues, or to collect public input regarding future park or government initiatives. Local clubs can also spend time here, letting people know they exist and what they have to offer.

Community Meeting Room

MEC is dedicated to nurturing partnerships with community-based organizations and environmental groups and the community room in the North Vancouver store is available at no charge to local outdoor clubs, ENGOs or NGOs that have a similar mandate as MEC. For profit business will pay for use of the room with proceeds donated to the North Vancouver community.

The room can be reserved for up to three weeks in advance and can be booked on short notice pending availability. We have a projector, white boards, and flip chart and the room can accommodate groups up to 15 people.

Seminars and Store Tours

We offer free presentations and informational store tours to interested student groups, outdoor organizations, environmental organizations, or business. Topics range learning about outdoor gear and trip planning to corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability practices.
