Store Services

Bike Shop Service

Our bike shops can provide any repair from minor service, like installing fenders, to a deluxe overhaul. If you're not sure what kind of work your bike needs, bring it in for a free safety inspection. Our mechanics will inspect it, consult with you, and if it needs service, determine the best package value for your bike's condition.

Call the store to set up a shop visit. A tune-up may take two to four business days. Minor repairs can be done while you shop.

MEC is a member-owned co-operative striving for social and environmental leadership. Our purpose is to support people in achieving the benefit of wilderness-oriented recreation. Part of our vision is to inspire action for a healthy planet. We seek to support organizations with similar goals through our Community Contributions programs.

Recycling

Batteries

We will recycle batteries that were bought at our store. You can drop them off at our Member Service Desk and we'll take care of them, but please don't bring any that are broken or corroded. Other types of batteries can be dropped off at your local Éco-centre. [French-only Website].

Climbing Ropes

Is your climbing rope no longer safe to use? If your rope has given you years of service and is showing signs of wear, you can give it new life.

Bring your rope into the store and we'll send it to Leigh Textile Inc. for recycling. Located in East-end Montreal, this company has been recycling various types of textile fibres since the 1920s. After it's been finely shredded, your faithful rope will be resurrected as acoustic insulation, padding for cars, or some other type of padding or stuffing.
