Our Rocksolid Guarantee

Like many retailers, we guarantee our products; if an item hasn't met your expectations, you can bring it back. Unlike most retailers, we also guarantee the product selection advice offered through our website and staff. If something you purchased based on this advice turns out to be unsuitable, you can always bring it back. Simply return it for an exchange, refund, repair, or credit.

Returns and Exchanges at MEC Stores

Make a return or exchange in person at any of our stores. Our stores cannot accept returns by mail or courier.

Returns by Mail

Complete the MEC Return/Exchange/Repair Form, print the completed form, and include it with the product you are returning. Send the package to our Service Centre:

We know that gear can get dirty when you're enjoying the outdoors. Please be sure to clean or wash products before sending them to the MEC Service Centre.

Within Canada

Return items must be sent via insured, prepaid Regular Parcel Post. Insuring your return allows you to track your parcel with Canada Post. We cannot accept CODs or courier deliveries.

From Outside Canada

Ship goods prepaid, by insured ground shipping. To avoid unnecessary delays, please write "Canadian Goods returning" on the outside of the package.

Do not return items by UPS or other carriers, as duty and/or brokerage fees will be charged, and your return will be refused by MEC.

Exchanges by Mail

If you are requesting an exchange by mail, contact our Service Centre for more information before you mail the item(s).


If your URGE bike or ski helmet is damaged in an accident within 3 years of the original date of purchase, MEC will replace it at a 50% discount. We'll also apply a 50% discount to damaged MET bike helmets within 2 years of purchase. To receive the discount, bring your damaged helmet to the Member Service desk any MEC store. The damaged helmet will be replaced with the nearest model in price, size and colour available. Discount applies to helmets purchased in Canada and applies to Urge and MET helmets only. All helmets you purchase at MEC are covered by our Rocksolid Guarantee.
