This measures the percentage of members who trust MEC to make decisions with their best interests in mind.

Target

We exist to serve our members. Our target is to ensure at least 88% of members trust MEC to make decisions with their best interests in mind.

Performance

This question is asked annually of an ongoing panel of members who are familiar with MEC. In 2012, 83% of those surveyed indicated they trust MEC to make decisions with their best interests in mind, missing our target of 88%. We’re not happy about that. As a co-op, we want to ensure our members trust our decision-making process.

Path Forward

We’ll always make decisions with our members’ best interests in mind. However, we feel that the current indicator only provides limited insight into member trust and engagement. Moving forward, we’re looking to develop a better measure to gauge member trust in our decision-making process. And we’ll continue to seek member input and feedback through a communications strategy that will help us better connect with our membership, and ongoing stakeholder engagement and transparency.
