As a co-op that sells outdoor gear, our success is tied to a healthy natural environment. Yet we know our actions impact the planet. Moving gear to and from different parts of the world. Heating and lighting our stores. The paper we use and the waste we produce. Even the way our employees commute to work has an impact.

We strive to reduce our waste and carbon emissions, and we're challenging ourselves to find new and creative ways to reduce our impact through product transportation, green buildings, and operations.

How We Do It

We track and reduce our carbon footprint from product transportation, facilities energy use, paper consumption, employee commuting, and business flights. We have a comprehensive green building program that considers new and retrofit building performance, as well as ongoing operations. And we track our waste footprint and continually reduce materials used, to divert all possible materials from the landfill.
