Browsing Events

How do I limit the number of events displayed on each page?

Click on the 'Show Items' drop-down menu located at the top of each listing page and choose the number of postings you'd like to display on each page. The default setting displays 20 postings per page.

How does the Events Calendar search feature work?

You can search for events using a keyword that may be found in either the title or the text of the event. For example if you are looking for an MEC sponsored event you might type "MEC" in the search box. The search results will then show anything that has "MEC" in the title or event text.

Is there an easy way to see events happening at my local MEC store?

You can make a selection from the "Find Store Events" menu to display only the events happening at a specific MEC store.

How do I sort events?

Events can be sorted by: 'Title', 'Organization', 'City/Town' or 'Date' by simply clicking on the underlined display header for each, located at the top of the page. The default is to sort postings by Date in descending order so that the most recent postings appear first.

Submitting New Events

How long will take before my posting gets added to the Events Calendar?

We do our best to approve all new postings within two business days.

How will I know if my posting is approved?

Once your posting is approved, you will be sent an email notification to inform you that your posting has been added to the Events Calendar.

Deleting Events

How long will my posting remain on the Events Calendar?

Your posting will remain on the Events Calender until the date that you have specified in the 'Date' field of the submission form. If you are submitting an event that occurs over a period of days, enter the final day of the event in the 'Date' field. The days over which the event takes place can be used to fill in the 'Date description' field. This information will show in your listing, however the final date entered in the 'Date' field will determine when your posting is removed.

I noticed an error on my posting. What should I do?

If you notice an error on your posting once it is on the Events Calendar, you can either send an email to events@mec.ca containing your unique posting number and informing us of the changes that need to be made, OR you can ask us to delete the old posting and re-submit a new posting containing the correct information.

What if if I have lost the email message containing my unique posting number?

You can find your posting number in the detailed description of your event.
