Why can't I find product reviews on mec.ca on my computer?

In order to read or submit a review at mec.ca, your web browser must be JavaScript enabled. This is a standard setting that can be switched on/off from the preferences menu of your web browser. The majority of people who visit mec.ca already browse with JavaScript enabled.


Can I submit a review for a product that is not online?

No, but we are working to get more products online. Eventually you'll be able to write a review for almost any product.


Why is the review feature missing on some products?

A handful of vendors have asked that their products not be available for review. We will work to educate these vendors on the value of reviews to their business.


Why can't I see English and French reviews on the same page?

Reviews submitted on the French site are kept separate from those submitted on the English site. For this reason, average product rating may differ between the two language locales.

However, you can access reviews on the French site by clicking the link, "Read French reviews". You can access reviews on the English site by clicking « Lire les évaluations en anglais ».


Can I submit an English review and a French review on the same product?

Yes, but not during the same session. You will need to open a new browser window to submit the second review or return to the site at least 20 minutes later.


Can I comment on whether a product review was useful?

Yes, after each review you'll see "Was this review helpful to you? Yes/No- You may also flag this review." You can flag a review if you see profanity, the wrong product, spam, a duplicate review, copyrighted material, etc. The review will then be re-examined by a moderator.


Why can't I see the review I submitted on mec.ca?

It may take 5-6 business days for a moderator to read and approve your review so please check back later.

Please note that reviews with content unrelated to product performance and quality may be edited or rejected.


Why is my product review different from what I submitted?

The purpose of the product review feature is to facilitate the sharing of information and opinions related to product performance and quality. Reviews may be edited to remove content that is not directly relevant to the product in question, such as comments about customer service.

What if I want to edit or delete my product review?

Only moderators can edit or delete postings so please be sure to read over the contents of your review carefully before submitting it.

If your posting contains an error or you would like it removed, send a note to one of our moderators. To do this, find your review on mec.ca. Below it you'll see the text "You may also flag this review." Click the link and give a description of the issue along with your email address. Within a few days, your review will be re-examined by a moderator who will make the changes requested.


Where can I find all the top-reviewed products on mec.ca?

You can browse all of the highest-rated products on mec.ca by clicking on the Top Rated Member Picks link on the Shop menu at the top of the site. Or, just click here.
