If you are not an MEC member and wish to send an E-Gift Card, please call our Service Centre at 1.888.847.0770, you could also join MEC.
MEC is a consumer co-operative, owned by the people who shop here. To buy or rent items at MEC you must be a member. Recipients of E-Gift Cards who are not members can use a portion of their card to purchase a $5 lifetime share.
E-Gift Cards are available in amounts from $25 to $250. They are redeemable for products or services purchased at MEC. They are not redeemable for cash.
E-Gift Cards are emailed to the recipient(s) specified. Expect them to arrive within 24 hours of the purchase date. If you select a future delivery date, expect the card to arrive on the day you specify. (Your credit card will be charged on the purchase date.)
To redeem an E-Gift Card, the recipient needs the gift card number and PIN number contained in the email.
When you buy E-Gift Cards on our website, you can send them to up to 5 people per order. Each person will receive one E-Gift Card of the specified amount. To send different amounts to different people, add them to your cart one at a time.
MEC respects the right to privacy. The recipient's email address will not be added to any mailing lists.
Please type recipient's email address carefully. If you would like to confirm that your gift has arrived, contact the recipient directly.
If you are worried that delivery may be prevented by the recipient's SPAM filters, you could send them a hint about expecting an email from MEC.
Cards have no associated fees or expirations dates.
If your E-Gift Card cannot be delivered, our Service Centre staff will contact you. To replace a lost or unredeemed card call 1.888.847.0770 (Canada and USA) or 604.876.6221 (Vancouver area and international) Monday to Friday 6:30am - 6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Your receipt is required to replace lost or stolen E-Gift Cards.
