Rate and Review Products

Let others know your opinion about items you've purchased. You can rate them on a scale from 1 to 5 and write reviews to share the pros and cons.

Add a Review:

1. From a product detail page, click the "Write a Review" link.
2. Log in with your MEC member number, or continue anonymously.
3. Give the product 1 to 5 stars (1 star = Poor. 5 stars = Excellent).
4. Write your review.
5. Preview the review, read the usage agreement, and click "Submit".

Reviews submitted on the English version of the site will not appear on the French site and vice versa.

We encourage you to log in with your MEC member number when reviewing products. This increases the credibility of your review, and allows you to see all the reviews you've added to mec.ca on your profile page (coming soon).

Review Writing Guidelines

Product reviews are intended to help members make better informed buying decisions.

• Focus on product performance and quality based on your own direct experiences. Whatever you say should be directly related to the product.
• Provide details about why you like or dislike the product.
• Please do not include:
  • The price of the product
  • HTML tags or special characters
  • Information about your retail or service experience when buying the product
  • Personally identifiable information: email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, or other contact information

Approval Process

Reviews are screened for inappropriate content before posting. Approved reviews appear within 5 – 6 business days.

Inappropriate content includes:

• Obscene or inflammatory language, or language not suitable for public forums
• Advertisements and "spam" content
• Critical or spiteful comments about other reviews or their authors
