Design Features

  • Breathability - Trail running is a highly aerobic activity. Mesh vents in key spots provide excellent ventilation.
  • Moisture-wicking - Lightweight, knit fabrics keep you dry when you're sweating it out on the trails.
  • Ergonomic Fit - Unrestricted movement is an important part of trail running. Tops stay put when you move and are cut longer so they won't ride up. Sleeves are designed to allow movement and lift.
  • Reflective and Visible - To increase visibility on evening or early morning runs, trail running clothes have subtle reflective detailing.

Shorts and Tights

Trail running shorts have a built-in mesh liner with an antimicrobial finish to help reduce odour. They're made from light and durable fabrics with an ergonomic cut to ease movement. They usually have small stash pockets for energy gels, keys, or other essential items.

Tights offer light compression with venting fabric strategically placed in key sweat spot areas like around your knees and the small of your back.

Tops

Trail running tops are made with light to medium weight fabrics. They are designed to move moisture and provide breathability. Many long-sleeved running tops feature slick thumb holes to cover your hands on chilly morning runs. Some women's tops are designed with a shelf-bra to provide light support.

Jackets

Trail running jackets or jackets used for high cardio output activities are made from lightweight fabrics that have wind-blocking capabilities. Built-in venting across the shoulders and under the arms make these jackets super breathable. You'll also appreciate pockets that have ports for MP3 player cords for safe-guarding your motivational tunes.

Gloves and Toques

Running specific gloves and toques are a worthwhile investment to keep your hands and head dry and comfortable on cold-weather runs. They're made from lightweight fabrics that wick moisture, and are compressible enough to stuff in a pocket. Strategically placed mesh inserts also provide ventilation.

Shoes

With well-cushioned midsoles and better traction than standard runners, trail running shoes are built for fast travel over rugged terrain.
