A system of routes has been created to help cyclists find their way. There are bike racks and we have several locks you can borrow free of charge. Greater Vancouver & North Shore Cycling Map and Guide Public TransitPlease visit the Translink website to find the best itinerary. Check Translink for bus schedules, route maps, and fare information. ParkingThere is an outside parking lot adjacent to the store. Parking is free. We have preferred parking set aside for hybrid vehicles and car co-ops. Store ServicesGear RentalsWe rent a limited selection of snowshoes, rock shoes, and snow safety package throughout the year. For a bigger selection of rentals, visit or call our Vancouver store. Please be aware that MEC North Vancouver offers a small selection of rental gear compared to other MEC stores. See Rental Information for more info. Grants and SupportMEC is a member-owned co-operative striving for social and environmental leadership. Our purpose is to support people in achieving the benefit of wilderness-oriented recreation. Part of our vision is to inspire action for a healthy planet. We seek to support organizations with similar goals through our Community Contributions programs. Seminars and Store ToursWe offer free presentations and informational store tours to interested student groups, outdoor organizations, environmental organizations, or business. Topics range learning about outdoor gear and trip planning to corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability practices. Community Meeting RoomOur meeting room can accommodate small groups, and is available to local outdoor clubs, ENGOs, or NGOs that have a similar mandate as MEC. We have a projector, white boards, and flip charts. We can accommodate groups up to 12. Use of our space is free. Display SpaceIf you belong to a not-for-profit organization that has similar values to MEC, and you need a way to reach out to the local outdoor community, why not try setting up a display in store over a weekend? Groups can use our floor space free of charge to educate the public about current environmental or outdoor issues, or to collect public input regarding future park or government initiatives. Local clubs can also spend time here, letting people know they exist and what they have to offer. Community DonationsEvery month we donate gear, cash and in-kind support to many community and environmental groups. We're looking to support groups focused on self-propelled wilderness oriented activities and groups promoting environmental education and conservation. Maximize the life of your stuff by having it fixed, and limit waste and the use of dwindling natural resources. Member Service SurveysComplete a survey at Member Service Desk and you'll be entered in a draw for a $50 gift card. You must be a member to enter the draw. Recycling
BatteriesWe will recycle batteries that were bought at our store. You can drop them off at our Member Service Desk and we'll take care of them, but please don't bring any that are broken or corroded.
