Our purpose is to support people in achieving the benefit of wilderness-oriented recreation. Part of our vision is to inspire action for a healthy planet. We seek to support organizations with similar goals through our Community Contributions programs. See our Community Contributions programs for details. Community Meeting RoomOur meeting room can accommodate small groups, and is available to local outdoor clubs, ENGOs, or NGOs that have a similar mandate as MEC. We have some audio visual equipment (not including laptop computers), white boards, and flip charts. Use of our space is free. If interested, please email Corynne Spry at cspry@mec.ca at least a month in advance of your event. Green Building ToursRecycled building materials, re-circulated rainwater, low energy usage – what does it all look like, and how does it work? If your group is interested in taking a tour of our green building, please email Corynne Spry at cspry@mec.ca for information. Community DonationsWe donate gear, cash, and in-kind support to community and environmental groups. We're looking to support groups focused on self-propelled wilderness oriented activities and groups promoting environmental education and conservation. To find out how MEC can help your group, contact Corynne Spry at cspry@mec.ca or at 250.386.2667. Display SpaceIf you belong to a not-for-profit organization that has similar values to MEC, and you need a way to reach out to the local outdoor community, why not try setting up in our Members' Den over a weekend? Groups can use our floor space free of charge to educate the public about current environmental or outdoor issues, or to collect public input regarding future park or government initiatives. Local clubs can also spend time here, letting people know they exist and what they have to offer. We do ask that you respect the rights of members who only want to go about their business. Space is limited, please email Corynne Spry at cspry@mec.ca for information.
