Ethical Sourcing: What It Means to Us

Our goal is to make affordable, quality products for the outdoors. Central to this goal is a belief that our gear be made in a way that respects the people who manufacture it. Through our Ethical Sourcing Program we work to improve the human condition in factories. This means safer working conditions, legal working hours, and reasonable pay for work done.

Manufacturing is an industry sector that's infamous for treating workers poorly. Yet we believe that quality products are made using sustainable practices. These include care for the planet's people and its ecology. Ethical sourcing is the way we reconcile these ideas. It is a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability.

Factory Conditions

We strive to address the root causes of infractions that affect workers. Our annual Sourcing Report details the results of our factory audits and the corrective action taken.

Sourcing and Global Issues

MEC gear is made in Canada and in 16 other countries worldwide. Regardless of location, we select factories that aspire to fair labour practices.
