Exciting news for park explorers: you can now pick up a free 2017 Discovery Pass at your local MEC. Stop by any MEC store and visit the Member Service Desk between February 13 and October 31, 2017, to get your free Parks Canada pass.
What is the Parks Canada Discovery Pass?
The 2017 Discovery Pass gets you free admission for the entire year to national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites across the country. It’s part of the Canada 150+ celebrations.
You’ll only need one pass to cover your whole group or family if you’re travelling together, and you don’t need any kind of Parks Canada promo code to pick up a pass – they’re available to everyone for free. The pass itself is a nice way to remember all the places you visit this year.

Trying to choose a Canadian park to visit? There are lots of lesser-known hidden gems to discover, from Thousand Islands National Park (Ontario) and Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve (Quebec) to Yoho National Park (BC) to Ivvavik National Park (Yukon). Wherever you explore, remember to follow the 7 principles of Leave No Trace Canada – small, simple changes in behaviour that can have big impacts on the outdoors.
