A specialized line and strap cutting knife for paramedics or SAR personnel. The curved, ergonomic handle has a large finger hole and friction grooves for additional control when cutting in close to a subject. A teardrop tip on the blade allows use of the knife close to another person (while removing a harness or seatbelt). The curved, serrated blade allows for one-pass cutting of belts or rope.
A moulded sheath, with a recess for the allen bolt that locks the knife into place, allows secure placement on utility belts or other equipment. This knife is designed for professional users in emergency situations. It is not recommended as a general-purpose knife.
Blade edge type
Serrated edges are useful for cutting dense material like rope or webbing. They stay sharper longer than straight edges, but can be more difficult to sharpen.
