Description
This tunnel tent, a sleeker, sexier descendant of our venerable Merganser, provides lavish living for two. Fits a pair of full-length sleeping pads without overlapping and offers more head and elbow room than most tunnel tents. And it's also fairly long, which is nice for tall folks. Basic set-up requires just three pegs – fewer than most free-standing tents. Numerous guypoints on the fly permit more substantial rigging in rougher weather. The two-hoop design can twist to conform to uneven sites.
We’ve made the front hoop pole a bit rounder, for more head and shoulder room. And we’ve refined the inner tent and fly with more catenary curves and scalloped edges, for a tauter setup. The vestibule provides a good place to store packs, boots, and soggy stuff. A mixture of pegs are supplied, keeping weight and bulk down yet providing bomber anchors where needed. The window adds a welcome source of natural light if you're stuck inside during a rainstorm.
