Show Description

Garmin takes the cycling-specific navigation functionality of the Edge 1000, adds the core training features of the Edge 520, and puts it all into compact package in the Edge Explore 820. It features Garmin’s cycle map, offering turn-by-turn navigation, points of interest, bike friendly trails, and more. The GroupTrack feature displays exact location and speed information for your fellow riders. With ANT+ and Bluetooth, there are sensor options to take your riding to the next level. Train smarter with cadence sensors, heartrate monitors, ride safer with Garmin’s Varia radar and lighting units. Whether making the unfamiliar feel familiar, helping you find the best route to that new café, or changing the way you train, the Explore 820 has a lot to offer.

  • Newly designed touch-based interface is intuitive and easy to use, allowing fast access to navigation, courses, and Connect IQ apps.
  • Navigate cycling routes with preloaded maps and points of interest (POIs). Round-trip routing makes it easy to explore new roads, and Route Planner allows you to create routes using the map or POIs.
  • GroupTrack displays the location and telemetry of your contacts that are using compatible Garmin devices, potentially changing group rides as we know them.
  • Incident detection uses the Edge 820’s accelerometers to detect if an accident has occurred. In the case of an accident the unit will send a signal through your paired smartphone to predefined emergency contacts, letting them know where you are and that you are in need of help.
  • Large, glove-friendly touchscreen.
  • Compatible with all smartphones featuring Bluetooth 4.0 (iPhone 4s or higher, and Android 4.3 or higher).
  • Includes a standard handlebar mount and a space-saving out-front mount.
