About Black Diamond
Black Diamond began their outdoor innovation by telling their customers to stop buying the product they were originally selling. No, really, Black Diamond pioneers Yvon Chouinard and Tom Frost saw crags around the world becoming littered with permanent climbing protection that damaged the rock. They decided that any climbing protection should be removable and thus, Black Diamond camalots were born.
For climbers and skiers
With a range of products covering climbing and skiing, Black Diamond is the ultimate gear provider for mountain and crag-goers. Black Diamond climbing gear starts at the nuts and bolts of climbing with a range of carabiners and belay devices.
To supplement any climbing journey, they offer stylish and technical chalk bags and climbing shoes. And if ice climbing is your thing, Black Diamond ice climbing gear offers all the essentials from crampons to ice screws.
If you prefer to race down the mountain rather than climb up it, Black Diamond stocks skis and ski accessories for backcountry skiing and headlamps to keep you moving in the dark.
Protecting outdoor spaces
Black Diamond is passionate about conserving and preserving the outdoor spaces they serve with their products.
They work towards reducing their environmental footprint by recycling polybags and aluminum at their distribution centers, and recycling scrap metal and excess cardboard at their manufacturing facility. To top it off, many of the materials used in Black Diamond apparel and climbing harnesses are bluesign® approved.
In an effort to protect outdoor spaces and the sports they serve, Black Diamond supports access, equality and inclusion in these spaces, including partnering with many organizations like Protect Our Winters (POW).
