About Hanwag

Hanwag has over 100 years of work in the outdoor industry with a focus on long-lasting, comfortable hiking boots.

Beginning as a small workshop in a modest village northwest of Munich, founders and 3rd gen shoe-makers Hans and Josef Wagner wanted to make hiking boots that withstand everything from urban exploration and long-distance treks to deep forest exploration.

Hanwag selects each material that goes into a pair of boots carefully and applies each strategically ensuring max comfort and the best possible climate for your feet. Hanwag hiking boots have large toe boxes to reduce rubbing for countless miles of comfort, and a supportive midsole for bumpy terrain. GORE-TEX linings keep water out and let air in for breathability on sweaty hikes.

Sustainability by staying local

Hanwag manufactures locally to keep the transportation routes of raw materials short. And as a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, they continuously work to use recycled materials wisely.
