Time to bundle up

Shocker: winter can get quite cold. And if you’re playing in the snow and taking winter walks in the woods, you might find your teeth chattering if you’re not properly dressed.

Toasty and dry

Parkas are known for being coats that doesn’t require as much layering underneath. They’re typically heavily insulated to keep you warm without piles of undershirts or sweaters.

Some MEC Label parkas are filled with down for pillowy insulation that feels like you’re wrapped up in your favourite sleeping bag. They’re ideal for frosty morning commutes to school or even afternoon sledding sessions.

Some parkas have a durable water repellent (DWR) finish to keep you dry when the winter weather gets a little too slushy or wet. And a parka isn’t really a parka without a big hood for extra layer of protection for your face when the wind whips in.

Looking after your parka

If your coat is made from down, make sure you also know how to wash a down jacket so your parka can stay lofty and warm, no matter how bad the weather gets.
