The MEC Drishti Jacket has an elastic drawcord with metal ends, and there’s a small risk of the ends catching on something and snapping back into your face. Please bring your Drishti Jacket to your nearest MEC store so we can remove the metal ends to fix the problem.
All MEC stores have a hot cutter to remove the metal ends. The hot cutter ensures that the elastic ends are properly bonded and won’t fray.
No incidents of injury have been reported to MEC by members (or Health Canada) about the drawcord ends, and this is a voluntary recall to correct the problem.
