Scarpa has informed MEC that it is voluntarily recalling its F1 EVO Ski Boots due to a functional defect. According to the manufacturer, in rare circumstances, “the boot may unexpectedly switch from ski mode to walk mode, which increases the skier’s likelihood of falling.” Scarpa is urging EVO owners to immediately stop using their EVO boots and return them for a full refund.
EVO boots sold by MEC since September 2014 are subject to this recall. If you are uncertain about which ski boot model you have, contact our Service Centre at info@mec.ca or 1.888.847.0770. A member service representative can check your purchase history and confirm whether or not your boots qualify for the voluntary recall.
