Health Canada recently made MEC the subject of a stop sale order for three brands of sunscreen and lip balm products. The order affects eleven types of products sold through MEC since early November 2017. As a result, MEC is recalling all the products listed below.
While the products meet all legal requirements for sale in the US, they do not have the drug identification numbers (DIN) required for sale or import in Canada for products that contain certain ingredients and concentrations. Additionally, they were imported without a Drug Establishment License (DEL) as required for over-the-counter medication under Canadian law.
