Province of Quebec

Avalanche Québec is a non-profit organization dedicated to avalanche safety in Quebec. This is a unique program in eastern Canada that was initiated in the fall of 1999 in the heart of the Chic-Choc Mountains, in Gaspésie.

Its mission is to protect the public, prevent accidents and improve avalanche safety. This is all possible by providing activities, information, and education to the public, as well as raising awareness among the population, primarily in Quebec.

MEC funding supports the MEC x Avalanche Québec grant program, the certification and ongoing training of instructors in the Avalanche Canada course program in Quebec, and public awareness activities.

You can also get involved by donating, following them on Facebook or Instagram, or even sharing information about your last trip by creating a Mountain Information Network (MIN) report!
