If you purchased one or more Stubai Ring Pitons or Stubai Soft Pitons between 2004 and 2018, we have recently been notified of a recall on the two products by Stubai.
Stubai has noted that the welds on the rings on these pitons can crack in rare circumstances posing a fall hazard. Stubai asks that you stop using your pitons and return them to MEC for a refund. Learn more about Stubai’s recall notice.
We ask that you stop using affected pitons immediately. Due to the COVID-19 situation, MEC cannot accept in-person returns through our stores at this time. We suggest that you wait until our stores re-open to make a return. You can also contact us to arrange a return by mail.
