A general purpose, traditional folding pocket knife with locking mechanism. For

all round camp use, whittling and food preparation. Has a carbon steel blade

which can be easily sharpened but requires oiling and careful ongoing care to

prevent corrosion.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT?

The Opinel cannot be easily flicked open. It has a thumbnail slot but shouldac

tually be partially opened with the famous "Savoyard Knack" (a sharp tap ofthe h

andle end on a table top) to free the blade for easy opening. Once open-ed, the

knife can be locked open for safe cutting.
