About Hoka
When it comes to making top notch footwear for runners, Hoka leads the pack with its collection of comfy and lightweight running shoes. Founded in 2009 in France, Hoka changed the running shoe game with oversized midsoles, providing cushy stability as you hit the road. The original founders wanted to make a high-performance running shoe that mimicked the feeling of skiing on powder. The name is a Maori-derived phrase that roughly translates to “fly over the earth.”
What makes Hoka great
Whether you’re training for your next ultra marathon or just hitting the treadmill at lunch, Hoka running shoes are known for being ridiculously cushioned yet lightweight on your feet. These runners boast a massive midsole, wide toe box and MetaRocker™ technology that rounds the sole and syncs with your stride. Hoka shoes also have an Active Foot Frame™ that cradles your feet and keeps the heels locked in place. The extra stability, generous shock absorption and good traction help to keep you steady as you log miles on roads and trails.
Finding the right pair
Hoka has several different types of running shoes depending on your style, whether it’s road running, daily walks or even time spent primarily at the gym. When it comes to road runs, the Bondi, Clifton or Arahi collections come in sizes for both men and women and provide plenty of cushion, support and grip on your feet. If you prefer going off-road for trail runs, the Hoka Torrent, Speedgoat and Tecton collections provide traction lugs for better grip in loose soil. Some Hoka shoes include waterproof-breathable GORE-TEX™ materials to help keep your feet dry during rainy days or on muddy trails.
