KEY POINTS & INTENDED USE

Once again we re-fined a star; the MEC Cyclone pant has been a key item in

every cyclists foul weather quiver for many a year. A light pant that

stretched with the rider, enough weather protection to stay dry in a decent

steady rain and breathed enough to not sweat yourself sopping. Why did we dare

attempt to re-fine such a jewel you ask? Page down to read one of our member's

comments, which so eloquently describe the problem...

DRY BUT DISAPPOINTED;

I have the same review I think as I have seen and heard often of these tights.

They are fabulously waterproof (despite not being labeled as "waterproof").

They're more comfortable than rain pants, a little more stylish, plus no

"swish-swish" when you walk :)

BUT, the fit is terrible. The waist is high and large, but the legs are so

short!! I ended up buying a size small (at 5'5" 120lbs); the extra small fit

better all-around, except that it was 2-3" above my ankles, and I'm not tall!

The small size is still too short, especially with bent legs, like say, oh,

when you're cycling... but at least it reaches down to my waterproof booties.

While this was a women's comment, the men's often were very similar... Great

pant, with a "troubled" fit. It's pretty tough to get a good fit out of as

little seaming as was in the Cyclone, but more seaming increases the potential

for water leaking through the seams. A bit of a crux...

So we did a bit of testing, played a bit of pin the tail on the donkey and

Voila! The Adanac tight; a negligible compromise on extra seaming to dial in

the fit, and the same fabric we've all grown to love!

KEY NOTES: This product is still NOT waterproof!

*** We also added another more relaxed silhouette for the women; The Mont Royal

Pant, Style#:5023432.
