Kids backpacks to carry all the necessities
Grade school, summer camp or a backcountry trek – wherever your child is headed, make sure they’ve got space for everything they need on hand. A kids’ backpack will keep them prepared no matter what they’re packing for or where the day takes them.
Kids’ backpacks aren’t too different from adult packs, apart from their sizing. Like adult packs, they come in a variety of styles for different activities and packing needs. School bags and daypacks are great for more casual outings, with internal organization for books, snacks and school supplies without weighing down pint-sized adventurers. When it’s time to hit the trails, kids can carry their own water bottle, lunches and more with ergonomic hiking packs that include all the same design innovations as adult packs. Padded straps, waistbelt pockets, adjustable torso lengths and more ensure that the kids will be just as comfortable as the adults when it’s time to load up.
Keep an eye open for special features included in some kids’ backpacks. Hydration-compatible packs lessen the need for a separate water bottle, allowing them to slip a water bladder or hydration bladder straight into their pack. Reflective details increase visibility in low-light conditions for added security. Rain covers keep their packs dry through nasty weather – and for those that don’t have one included, it’s as easy as picking up a rain cover or pack liner to send with them.
