KEY POINTS & INTENDED USE

This "footprint" attaches to the pole-ends of this tent, and acts as an extra

floor to protect the sewn-in floor from wear and tear. It's cut a bit smaller

than the tent's floor, so that rainwater doesn't run between the footprint and

the tent's floor. Edges are cut with a slight catenary curve to ensure smooth,

wrinkle-free deployment. In a pinch you could use this footprint alone with

just the flysheet and poles to set the tent up as a single-wall ultralight.

(but keep in mind we've minimised the number of velcros under the flysheet of

the Monadnock, so the setup might not be ideal).

Materials: We use "recycled" fabrics for footprints, meaning those that are

left over from our and other companies' production runs, and which would

otherwise eventually be landfilled. We insist on 70 denier nylon or 75 denier

polyester, usually in plain weave (=taffeta) for best abrasion-resistance.

Waterproof polyurethane coating has a minimum spec of 1800mm water column, but

in practice is usually even better than this. Colour will vary from year to

year, or even shipment to shipment, as we use up those rolls of fabric, but we

try to stay away from really weird shades that might clash with the tent.

(not that you can see a footprint in use...)
