If you are new to mountain biking, a great hardtail will help you learn lines and handle a trail better than a full-suspension bike ever will. Salsa’s 2nd generation Timberjack is longer, lower, and slacker, giving it an aggressive trail eating ride that will make you want to go for another lap. Equipped with 1 by 12 Shimano Deore group set, you get plenty of mechanical advantage to take the edge off the climb trails and fire roads. Big 29in. wheels and plush 2.6in. Maxxis tires, roll easily over roots and rocks. A RockShox front fork helps smooth out the trail and takes the edge off your landings. Outfitted with a dropper post collaboration between Salsa and TranzX, that allows for up to 30mm of adjustability, no tools required. Allowing you to personalize your dropper, a key component that takes you from comfortably seated in the climbs, to flowing freely on the descents at the push of a lever.

Light and strong 6061 aluminum frame has been refined to be more aggressive in the descents and more efficient in the climbs
RockShox 35 Silver TK has stout 35mm stanchions that improve strength and rigidity, 140mm of travel, and a lockout for climbing
Shimano Deore 1 x 12 drivetrain is rugged, reliable, and affordable, providing fast accurate shifts even in rough terrain
Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer precise speed control in all conditions
Internal cable routing keeps your cables safe from trail hazards and has a nice clean look
TranzX RAD+ dropper post can be adjusted up to 30mm without any tools, giving riders at either end of the size range a little more freedom
Dropper travel: XS and SM frames have 150mm, MD and LG frames have 170mm, and the XL has a 200mm
Maxxis Minion DHF out front and Rekon out back, offering a great combination of grip and durability
Tires and rims are tubeless ready if you want to convert down the road
EXO tire casing reinforces the sidewalls, adding strength without compromising handling
WTB Volt saddle is comfy and supportive on rides of any length. Volt is a size medium – 142 x 265mm

Frame is dual wheel compatible, coming with 29in. tires but able to use 27.5in. tires all the way up to 3in. wide
