About Gregory

Gregory was built around a simple idea: make backpacking comfortable.

The company got its start in 1977 when Californian backpacker Wayne Gregory set out to design a pack that fit well and could carry heavy loads. He engineered a new suspension system and developed new materials and features, like padded hipbelts.

Today, Gregory packs are known for two things: customizable fit and incredible comfort, even when fully loaded. No matter where you set course, Gregory backpacks help you carry your gear with ease. Ergonomic multi-day packs easily haul everything you need for a weekend in the woods or an epic thru-hike. Roomy Gregory daypacks and sleek hydration packs hold the 10 essentials and then some, so you can head straight from the office to the trailhead.

Gregory’s commitment to comfortable carrying means tailoring packs to fit bodies of all shapes and sizes. Women’s specific packs are designed for hikers with shorter torsos and curves at their hips and chests. Plus-size packs fit the contours of bodies up to size 6X, with adjustable shoulder straps and hipbelts that let you dial in the perfect fit.

To help more people go hiking, Gregory supports organizations working to improve outdoor access, like Big City Mountaineers, the Conservation Alliance, and Outdoor Women’s Alliance.
