KEY POINTS & INTENDED USE

This Helium features Shimano's new Di2 Ultegra 11 speed drivetrain. The

Ultegra Di2 shift with a speed and precision previously thought impossible in

the cycling world. What this tech means to the end user (besides the obvious

cool factor) is fast almost imperceptible shifts. The new 11 speed drivetrain

allows for very smooth power transfer from the rider to the road making the

Helium exceptionally efficient. The Helium uses Shimano Ultegra group set to

handle components not under the Di2 umbrella i.e. brakes, the cassette. This

Helium uses the popular RotoR 3DF crankset which is known for its lightweight

and stiffness. While 4ZA Cirrus and Cirrus Pro handle the other components,

like stem, handlebars, seatpost, and saddle. The Helium's power gets to the

road through Fulcrum's Racing Quattro wheel set. ****Page Down****

Fulcrum has loaded the Racing Quattro's with technology to make them very

agile, lightweight, and aerodynamic. The Helium's ultra-light full carbon

fibre frame combined with the lightweight Fulcrum Racing Quattros makes

manoeuvring the bike feel effortless and instant. The Helium is an amazing

Road bike that is perfect for the dedicated weekend warrior or the serious

racer. The Helium is art, really fast, really light, really efficient, art.

Like many of Ridley's top-end carbon frames the Ridley Helium frame is an

amazing feat of engineering. The Helium is made from a blend of 30 to 24 ton,

high modulus unidirectional carbon fiber (higher ton rating = stronger carbon,

stronger carbon = stiffer and lighter frames). ****Page Down****

The Helium frame is built in a manner that is aerodynamic, strong, and

superlight (size Med = ~880 grams unpainted). The tube shapes used on the

Helium frame have had special attention paid to them in order to be strong and

stiff, but most of all light. The Helium frame was designed to easily conform

to the sub 6.8kg complete bike UCI weight limit. The oversized headtube is

tapered; the increased surface area adds rigidity and dissipates vibration

well. The seatstays and oversized chainstays have been engineered to further

help with the dissipation of vibration while maintaining a high lateral

stiffness, something that is key while climbing. The dual purpose internal

cable routing uses the same holes for mechanical and electronic shifting,

resulting in a very clean design without excess holes. ****Page Down****

The Helium was developed as an evolution to Ridley's winning frame the

Damocles. Ridley has been sure to outfit the Helium frame in kit that will do

it justice.

Ridley is a name that has long been associated with winning teams in the

professional cycling world. All of Ridley's publically available bikes have

been developed using key features born on true world class race bikes. Ridley

develops their frames from the ground up, from aerodynamic testing, to making

their own molds for the raw carbon frames.

- Internal Cable Routing: Aerodynamic and clean, compatible with mechanical and

electronic shifting

- Oversized Tapered Headtube: Increases front end stiffness, giving greater

steering precision

- Ultra-thin Seatstays: Engineered to offer comfort enhancing vertical

compliance and lateral stiffness

- Press Fit 30 Bottom Bracket: Advantages to this system is weight savings, a

narrow Q-factor, greater bearing durability, and simple installation.

Fulcrum Racing Quattro Wheelset: The Racing Quattro wheel is entirely

hand-assembled by a specialised Fulcrum technician and is checked in every tiny

detail with electronic instrumentation. ****Page Down****

CIRRUS: Equally at home training during the week or racing on the weekend, the

Cirrus series utilizes all of the input from our pro athletes but in an

affordable package. We painstakingly choose the best combination of materials

in order to provide the optimal package at a respectable cost. Using

lightweight alloys allows weight savings but also increased strength and

aesthetics.

CIRRUS PRO: Top-level professional grade equipment designed without any

compromise. The Cirrus Pro components are designed and ridden by World

Championship level athletes. ****Page Down****

We have chosen the top-level materials including the highest-grade carbon fiber

available. All aspects including weight, strength and aesthetics were taken

into account developing this collection.

ROTOR developed the 3D crank to be extremely stiff in order to meet the

demands, but it also needed to be lightweight; a combination that is needed for

both sprinting and climbing. ROTOR utilizes a special manufacturing process,

named the "Trinity Drilling System. An extruded aluminum bar is intricately CNC

machined with three drilled holes through the length of the crank. The result

is a unique triple hollow crank arm that enables Rotor's engineers to remove

the excess aluminum in the core while still maintaining the structural strength

of the crank. ****Page Down****

Battery life is almost always a question with electronics but that of the Di2

should not be an issue for most cyclists. The Ultegra Di2's battery is good for

about 1200 kilometers. And, the great thing about the Di2's battery is that it

can be charged at any time without affecting the battery's memory - charge time

is ~1.5h. You are able to check the battery's status at any time: Hold one of

the shift paddles down for a few seconds will activate the indicator light.

When the light is green, it is fully charged. At 50% charge, it will start

flashing green. At 25% charge, it will turn solid red. It will flash red when

the battery is critically low.

****Page Down****

There is a warning light when the battery is getting low, and when the system

detects that the battery is nearing empty it will shut off power to the front

derailleur and divert all power to the rear derailleur providing you with

50-100 shifts on the rear to get to a charger. The internal battery version of

the Di2 is charged through the front junction box, unlike first gen Di2 where

you removed just the battery to charge it. Simply plug the included charging

cable into a USB A port and that charges your battery. Internal battery is

housed within the seatpost.

Note: Shimano warns against using the battery in extreme temperatures. Here

are Shimano's operating temperature ranges:

1. During discharge: -10 °C - 50 °C 2. During charging: 0 °C - 45 °C
