KEY POINTS & INTENDED USE

Ridley has a rich history with the Cyclocross world, having their headquarters

in Belgium - the unofficial home of cyclocross helps this relationship. The

X-Ride series frame capitalizes on the success of the Ridley's carbon Cross

frames but is made out of triple butted hydroformed 7000 series T6 aluminum.

Aluminum keeps strength high, costs reasonable, and weight low. All Ridley

Cyclocross bikes feature cross specific geometry that has been worked out with

Ridley's pro cyclocross riders. This cross specific geometry has had an

emphasis place upon handling. The bottom bracket has a shorter drop "for

easier taking of obstacles". Ridley has also top-routed cables on the X-Ride

for a "cable free grip" and the flat top tube makes for easier shouldering.

The oversized headtube is tapered; the increased surface area adds rigidity and

dissipates vibration well. The X-Ride's fork, chainstay, and seatstay have all

been engineered mud clearance in mind.

The X-Ride 15 Disc wears a set of Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes. Disc brakes

are typically seen on top end Cyclocross bikes, and the proven BB7s do not

disappoint. The X-Ride 15 features SRAM's new 11-speed drivetrain (using a

mixture of Rival and Force). This 11-speed drivetrain allows for very smooth

power transfer and allows you to pick the perfect gear for any given terrain.

The X-Ride 15 Disc's power gets to the road through bespoke wheels made up of

parts from leading companies like JoyTech and ALEX.

The X-Ride 15 is a great option for the serious Cyclocross rider that wants

some of the best componentry without dropping the extra money on a carbon

frame. The X-Ride 15's 7000 series aluminum frame is equipped with a 4ZA's

light and strong Oryx carbon fork, SRAM's great 11-speed drivetrain, Avid BB7

mechanical disc brakes, and grippy Clement PDX tires making it a true force to

be reckoned with.

Ridley is a name that has long been associated with winning teams in the

professional cycling world. All of Ridley's publically available bikes have

been developed using key features born on true world class race bikes. Ridley

develops their frames from the ground up, from aerodynamic testing, to

hydroforming their own custom 7000 series frames.
