About Scarpa

Founded in 1938, Scarpa is a footwear company headquartered in the Dolomite Mountains of northern Italy. Four years later, a 13-year-old shoemaker named Luigi Parisotto joined the team. By 1956, Parisotto was a master craftsman, and he and his brothers purchased the company and expanded its production. Nearly seven decades on, Scarpa remains family-owned and operated.

Scarpa offers footwear for alpine pursuits in every season. Technical approach shoes and boots carry mountaineers from trailhead to treeline and beyond. Scarpa climbing shoes offer reliable grip on big walls, local crags and bouldering problems. Trail running shoes and hiking boots keep mountain athletes surefooted on high-mileage days and speedy peak-bagging missions. When winter finally arrives, lightweight Scarpa backcountry ski boots let skiers earn their turns in pursuit of epic powder stashes.

Innovation has always been part of Scarpa’s history. The company brought some of the earliest plastic shell climbing boots to the alpine world and made the first GORE-TEX® hiking boots. Now focusing on lowering the environmental impact of its manufacturing processes, Scarpa has installed solar panels on its headquarters, kept 90% of its production chain in Europe for reduced transportation emissions, and developed ski boots made from renewable materials.
