From vendor:

"Phantom is a permanent, one-time application base-coating that forever eliminates the need for waxing skis and snowboards. It's a disruptive, truly innovative solution that ushers in a new era in snowsports. Phantom's patent-pending polymer technology offers ultimate convenience combined with great glide performance that never wanes across all snow temperatures, and for the life of a ski or board's use. Phantom eliminates the damage traditional wax does to watersheds, along with the health risks for people applying it. Phantom can be applied to any new or used ski or snowboard at any point in a board's life cycle, at a price that quickly delivers strong value."

Unlike wax, Phantom only needs to be applied once. The Phantom blend penetrates the PTex to permanently alter the base so performance never wears off, regardless of the number of days ridden or stone grinds. No more need to wax your skis...ever. Phantom provides a constent glide and speed across a wide range of conditions and temperatures. The performance is very similar to the glide of all-temperature wax in most mid-winter snow conditions, and exceeds it in warmer snow conditions.

This is perfect for skiers and snowboarders who regularly ride at the resort or in the backcountry as they are looking for reliable and predictable glide in all snow conditions and terrain. Not designed for nordic skiing.

Phantom has a distinct feel. It is not slippery like fresh wax when moving very slowly. However, after beginning to move, Phantom has significant acceleration and great top-end glide.

**Note that this has not been certified. More for interest's sake: On the environmental side of things, traditional waxes are comprised of CFCs and PCFs that leach into watersheds. Hydrocarbon wax can contain chemicals such as: acetone, benzene, 2-butanone (methyl ethyl ketone), carbon disulfide, carbon tetrachloride, cresol, chlorobenzene, carbon monoxide, cyclopentene, ethyl benzene, mercury, styrene, tetrachloroethene, toluene, and xylene. These are not only harmful to the environment, but also to the people applying waxes. Phantom is composed of inert compounds that are friendly to the environment and those applying it.
