Katadyn Explorer Microfilter

A 2-stage water filtration system that helps you stay hydrated and healthy in the backcountry. Katadyn’s Explorer filter uses two different filtration elements to make your water both safe to drink and taste good. The first stage is a fine ceramic element that removes particulate down to 0.2 microns — things like bacteria, parasites, sediment, microplastics, and more. The second stage is an activated carbon core; this makes your water taste like water, something not all filters do. Utilizing a clever modular design, you can customize your filter to your trip. Backpacking in the Rockies where you’ll be drinking pure, cool glacier melt and don’t need to worry about flavour? Then leave the carbon filter at home. Canoeing in Killarney Park where you’ll be drinking from lakes and streams? Then take both elements and enjoy filtered water without funny tastes or smells.
