Edelrid Ohm II Assisted Braking Resistor

When a lighter belayer is paired with a significantly heavier climber, the OHM adds assisted braking to help keep the belay controlled. Clipped to the first bolt in the safety chain, it increases braking force during a lead fall and makes lowering a heavier climber easier to manage. A swivel joint allows the device to move freely regardless of clipping direction, while the locking system helps prevent accidental opening and makes rope insertion and device removal straightforward. The OHM adds no extra friction when paying out rope, so normal lead belaying remains smooth
