I’m an MEC member but haven’t signed up for MEC Member Rewards. Am I eligible?
No, you must upgrade to the new MEC Member Rewards program. Sign to your account, select Activate my Rewards and opt in. Don't forget to sign up for MEC emails to get the most out of the program!
What is “Good condition”?
We require that the items are laundered, have working zippers, no alterations (lowering the drop-hem in okay), no holes or tears, no worn-out areas (i.e. cuffs). The items cannot have tears or stains. Minor scuffs on scuff guards are acceptable. MEC reserves the right to refuse trade in based on quality.
Can I trade in Toaster accessories too?
No, Toaster accessories like booties and mitts cannot be traded in. The program only includes Toaster Suits, Jackets, Parkas, Bibs and Bunting suits.
Can I trade in old Toaster styles (including ones with the old MEC logo on)?
Yes, we’ll accept any MEC Toaster outerwear so long as it’s in good condition. MEC reserves the right to use the Toaster outerwear for trade in resale and any other uses.
I don't have my printed receipt. Can I still participate?
Yes, if you have a MEC membership we should have a record of the original purchase attached to your membership number.
Is the trade-in program available at every store?
Yes, the trade-in will be available at all MEC locations for a limited time.
What is the timeline of the program?
As part of the program, stores will begin accepting Toaster suits from March 17, 2025 for all MEC store locations. Stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba will end collection on April 1. All other stores will end collection on May 1.
Will I be able to buy a gently used Toaster as part of this program?
Yes. As pre-loved Toasters arrive at stores, we will be reintroducing them into the wild at a discount. Please visit an MEC store and ask our staffers where to find gently used Toasters (subject to availability).
Are used Toasters from the trade-in program covered by MEC’s Rocksolid Guarantee?
Pre-loved Toasters are final sale and are not covered by our Rocksolid Guarantee.
Are there any other program terms?
MEC may discontinue or change the trade in program at any time. Any decisions made by MEC staff regarding accepting items for trade in are final. Trade ins are only available in select stores, which may change from time to time. Purchases of trade in products may not be combined with any other discount or offer.
