With an updated heart rate monitor and user interface, this Forerunner gives you more data and makes it easier to access. An evolution of the popular 200-sereies, the Forerunner 570 gets all the training features you expect and adds some smartwatch features from the Venu line. An internal speaker and microphone let you take calls, ask Siri a question, or take a voice note, without breaking stride. Equipped with the latest generation Elevate optical sensor, heart rate data still comes off your wrist, but is more reliable than ever. This new sensor performs better in challenging conditions, like trail running, gravel riding, and weightlifting, activities that are notoriously challenging for optical sensors. The onboard multi-band GPS provides information on your speed and distance. And all these sensors work together to tell you more about your training days and rest days. Garmin’s Morning Report is now joined by an evening report. One helps you plan your day, even providing a daily suggested workout, while the other helps you plan your tomorrow, with rest and recovery information. Onboard music gives your workouts a soundtrack. The 570 can control your phone’s music, or store and play music on its own, because sometimes it is nice to leave your phone at home. When you do pair your 570 to your phone, a world of smartwatch functionality opens up. Garmin’s free Connect app lets you review activities, receive texts, social media alerts, emails, etc., download training plans, keep an eye on the weather and more.
