Garmin inReach Mini 3

Updated with a bright touchscreen, the third generation inReach Mini redefines “keeping in touch” in the backcountry. Loaded with all the life saving and messaging capabilities you expect from the inReach family, the Mini 3 is more intuitive than ever to use. On its own, you can send text messages, check-in, call for a rescue, and use breadcrumb style navigation.  But when paired with your phone, you get complete access to your phone’s keyboard for messaging and access to map-based GPS navigation, no cell phone signal required. Messages travel on Iridium’s satellite network, giving you the ability to call for help or share a story, from anywhere on the planet. And if you get lost, but it isn’t an emergency, the internal GPS will show an easy path right back to where you started via the TracBack feature.

• Colour touchscreen lets you tap and swipe your way through your messages. On frigid adventures, you can use the classic button interface, so you won’t need to take your gloves off.
• Connects via Bluetooth to phones/tablets running the free inReach Messenger app. When paired with the Messenger app you gain access to your phone’s keyboard, contacts and group text capabilities. Texts sent via the Messenger app over cellular or Wi-Fi, can only be received by other Garmin Messenger users
• Custom text messages can be up to 160 characters long.
• Stores customized and pre-set quick-response text messages for anticipated situations
