Ready, set, run
Running is one of the most accessible outdoor activities. Simply walk out your door, and just… run. It’s healthy, puts you in a good headspace and is an easy way to connect with new places.
Thinking of getting into running, either on sidewalks or trails? Choose a proper pair of running shoes that matches your goals and stride.
Choose the way you run
It may seem a little intimidating when it comes to knowing how to choose running shoes. To start, ask yourself where you’ll be running. Will you be in your neighbourhood or local park paths? Or will you take things up a notch with on trails with rocks and roots?
Road running shoes are made to cushion your feet on paved routes, and often have light, breathable mesh to avoid overheating. Trail runners tend to be a little beefier with grippy soles to give you traction on the uneven surfaces. If you suspect that creeks, mud or heavy rainfall will be on the horizon, look into waterproof-breathable shoes.
