Our sold-out evening talk with Tommy Caldwell raised $4,136 for the Climbers’ Access Society of BC to help protect access, establish new climbing areas and tend to environmental conservation. Read all about it and find out what else we got up to with Tommy and Edelrid in our event recap.
The legend is back! Join MEC and Edelrid on April 27 at the MEC Vancouver store as we chat about climbing access, advocacy, and adventures with Tommy Caldwell.
You’ll hear stories from Tommy’s most recent adventure in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park with Alex Honnold and Adam Stack, which linked peaks from Mount Meeker to Notchtop. Caldwell dubbed the adventure the Continental Divide Ultimate Linkup (CDUL). The team was on the move for 36 hours and covered roughly 20,000 feet of vertical, 35 miles, and 65 pitches over 11 classic climbing routes. The CDUL is pronounced “cuddle,” for how the team had to keep themselves warm in the middle of the night.
