Community Upcycling Workshops

MEC Vancouver (111 E 2nd Ave)

Sunday, April 21

12 – 2pm

Learn how to make your own bike bag or chalk bag from recycled materials with The Cut Design Academy, one of North America’s only accredited fashion and design schools. Only 15 spots available for registration, tickets are $10 per person. All materials and tools will be provided.

MEC Calgary (830 – 10th Avenue SW)

11am – 2pm

Make your own Mini Roll Pouch with Rick Rack, a garment-focused sewing shop in the heart of Calgary. The perfect scrap-busting or upcycling project with three slot pockets and a fold-over top for keeping utensils, repair tools and more; small enough to carry around in a purse, bike bag, or daypack this will become your go-to for all occasions. All tools and materials will be provided, but if you attend feel free to bring your own recycled fabric, too. Only 14 spots available, tickets are $10 per person.
